Call of the Wild
Photographing wild animals around the world has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. From playful encounters to the raw realities of survival, every moment offers a window into a world far older—and often wiser—than our own. I’m drawn to their moods, their instincts, their hidden tenderness. My love for animals runs deeper than I can explain, and through these images, I try to honor their beauty, their struggles, and their wild, unspoken lives.
A Kenyan friend told me just how rare it is to view two leopards together in the wild, given how fiercely solitary they are. From behind my longest lens, I caught a flash of primal intensity — teeth bared, patterned coats in striking contrast against the green grass. Maasai Mara, Kenya.

Just moments before, I’d watched two cheetah brothers at rest, curled up beside the tires of our jeep. After sniffing the air, they were now focused predators gearing up for their hunt. We followed quietly as they moved with purpose. Maasai Mara, Kenya.

I have always been fascinated with elephants. Their imposing stature, juxtaposed with sweet tenderness and empathy, moves me immensely. My dream to experience them in their natural element recently came to be in Amboseli, Kenya. I still look at this image and feel the connected energy of the herd, walking slowly and methodically, manifesting unwavering loyalty.

While on safari in Amboseli, Kenya, I watched this massive, relaxed female elephant slowly approach our vehicle. For a moment, I imagined stepping out of the jeep and wrapping my arms around her sweet trunk. Then she turned slightly and continued on her way.

Amboseli, Kenya - If I’m photographing elephants, I’m happy. I’ve seen them in all kinds of poses, in different countries and settings, but this one really stopped me. Was she playfully stretching? Elephant yoga? A cramp? I still don’t know.

The previous night, I’d been jolted awake by the glass-breaking screams of baboons on my tent roof. But in this quiet moment, I watched a mother baboon feed her baby, eyes closed in pure presence. I was moved by her deep connection to her little pink-faced infant.

A mother baboon sat quietly with her baby nestled in her lap, its tiny face peeking out at the big, wild world. I watched its small hands grip and release the thick golden fur on her back, a slow, rhythmic motion that seemed to soothe them both.

I’m always moved by the depth of connection between mothers and daughters, sisters and aunts, especially in animals known for their wild unpredictability. I feel grateful to witness and capture moments of tenderness like this.

A favorite moment in Amboseli, Kenya. A mother baboon passed by with her baby clinging bareback as she strode across the low grasses. Nearby, its sibling sat calmly, taking it all in before rejoining the troupe.

After witnessing hundreds of wildebeest crossing Kenya’s Mara River during the annual migration, I photographed this lone wildebeest and his reflection as he slowly waded through the shallow waters later that day.

The Great Wildebeest Migration in Maasai Mara is one of nature’s most mesmerizing displays. From above, I watched hundreds of wildebeest surge forward in a chaotic, dust-filled rush toward the Mara River.

In Maasai Mara, I spotted a pregnant zebra with her foreleg draped over her bent head, as if playing peek-a-boo. The pose felt humorous and tender, childlike yet weighted with expectant motherhood.

In the rainforests of Costa Rica, I finally saw a sloth up close. They truly move as slowly as you imagine, every blink and reach drawn out like a scene from a cartoon.

In a moment of stillness in Amboseli, Kenya, an elephant coiled her trunk into a perfect spiral and rested it gently on her tusks. I focused on the graceful curve, abstract and weighted in rest.

I love moments where different species share the same space in total ease. This peaceful scene shows a Maasai giraffe towering above a relaxed group of wildebeest, its long neck reaching quite literally into the clouds.
