Landscapes
From my home in California to Thailand, Cambodia, Africa, Japan, Peru, Costa Rica, and beyond, I’ve gathered some of my favorite landscapes to share. Each country carries its own rhythm. Some scenes are so vast, so alive with light and texture, they seem impossible to capture fully. Through my imagery, I try to hold on to the feeling of being there — small and amazed by life’s beauty.
I photographed the White Temple in Chiang Rai, Thailand - a surreal work of mirror, stone, and concrete. Its white surface represents the purity of Buddha, and the glass reflects his wisdom. Commissioned by a Thai businessman and opened to visitors in 1997, it remains unfinished.
What more could be done to this masterpiece? With an estimated completion date of 2070, the temple stands as a testament to the transformative power of passion and devotion.

In Chiang Rai, Thailand, I photographed the White Temple — a mind-boggling masterpiece of art and symbolism. Built meticulously from fragments of mirror, stone, and concrete, the white represents the purity of Buddha, while the glass symbolizes his wisdom. Leading up to the temple, sculpted hands reach upward in a chaotic tangle, symbolizing the passage from struggle to clarity and peace.

While exploring Angkor Wat, Cambodia, I came upon a centuries-old tree growing over the remnants of an 11th-century temple. Its massive roots had been reaching and winding over the stone for generations, like sculptural arms. In that moment, I was struck by the immense power of nature – to slowly, relentlessly reclaim what was once hers.

Chiang Mai, Thailand - An inviting patchwork of color and texture caught my eye — golden shapes nestled among lush green fields, dotted with tiny white flowers. A few reddish homes in the distance overlooked the beauty of the rice field.

As I floated along Thailand’s Bangkok Yai Canal, I loved the gleaming head and torso of the Buddha rising in still perfection above the crumbling homes that lined the water. The juxtaposition was striking. To emphasize the contrast, I chose to leave only the Buddha in color — brilliant gold against a black-and-white world — a symbol of peace, presence, and resilience amidst decay. The Buddha watches over it all, a steady, golden sentinel in a sea of impermanence.

Driving through the Anza-Borrego Desert in California, I came across a massive rock formation surrounded by hard-packed, gritty earth. As I took in the scene, something small and special caught my eye: a shadowy hollow in the rock, perfectly cradling a cluster of egg-sized stones — a hidden relic nestled in the heart of the wild.

At Dante’s View in Death Valley, CA., I looked out over the Badwater Salt Flats just after an unusually heavy rain. The minerals in the dry earth had reacted with the water, forming a pale green pool at the center of the cracked landscape—a rare transformation in one of the driest places on earth. I arrived just in time to capture the fleeting reflection of clouds drifting across its surface, moments before it vanished.

While photographing the iconic Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles, I found myself swept up in its wonder and drama. The architecture is already bold and dreamlike — but I couldn’t resist reimagining its signature silver into glowing gold, a quiet nod to the magic behind the name.

I captured this scene at Inthanon National Park in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The air was crisp and clean, and everything around was green except for a single ring of yellow-orange flower offerings marking the spot as sacred.

In the floating village near Siem Reap, I photographed a church raised on stilts above the water. Its bright colors and open doors revealed an enduring place of faith amid seasonal tides.

Maasai Mara, Kenya. It was worth getting up at 5 am. We waited as the sun finally rose above the grass and eventually nestled in the limbs of the Acacia tree.
