Labyrinth

$100.00

At the edge of the ocean, I photographed a large mound of kelp washed ashore, its colors igniting at the peak of sunset. At that moment, I imagined a photographic response to Jackson Pollock—organic, immersive, and electric. Historically, labyrinths served as spaces for meditation and inward journey. Over time, my kelp works have taken on a similar role for me: intricate compositions of organized chaos that evoke a sense of calm. This photomosaic began with a single image of kelp, multiplied and restructured into an abstract form, then mounted under acrylic. My fascination with kelp continues with this series I began over twenty years ago—an evolving dialogue with seaweed as subject, pattern, and muse.

Photomosaic design on acrylic, mounted and framed.

Small Size: Acrylic panel - 18 x 18 inches, framed - 30 × 30 inches
Medium Size: Acrylic Panel - 24 x 24 inches, framed - 36 × 36 inches
